| Scapharca subcrenata (commonly known as the marine clam) is a traditional marine medicinal food with a long history of clinical application, known for its effects of nourishing Yin, moistening dryness, and softening and dispersing hard lumps. This review systematically summarizes the research progress on the chemical composition, pharmacological activity, and quality control of Scapharca subcrenata, with a focus on its major components such as polysaccharides, proteins, and trace elements, as well as its biological activities including anti-tumor, immune regulation, and antioxidant effects. It also highlights modern analytical techniques for quality control, providing new insights for the in-depth development and comprehensive utilization of Scapharca subcrenata. |
